Job Description:
- The Business Systems Analyst 3 is an experienced professional who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice, with an in-depth understanding of the professional field related to IT Implementations.
- This position involves technology-based analysis of business practices, processes, and problems
- . Develops solutions which may involve process design and policy or procedural changes; create specifications for processes and/or systems to meet requirements, validate requirements against needs.
- Planning and executing unit integration and/or end-user acceptance testing; may develop training materials for project implementation.
- Incumbent is responsible for requirements development to satisfy business needs for IT Facilities/Implementations as a part of the 48X project.
- The incumbent works independently at a high technical level throughout various phases of project to determine user requirements, which may be based on requests or systems analysis and considers the business implications of applying technology to the current and future business environment.
- The incumbent assesses existing data, applications, infrastructure, equipment, workflows, and technology to analyze functionality, efficiency, and productivity, and then assists IT Implementations/Facilities with development and implementation as part of the 48X construction project to align business requirements.
- The incumbent must have an equal mix of technical knowledge and business acumen. Incumbents must have the ability to identify both business and technical situations, evaluate the needs, and identify potential solutions.
- This business analyst is responsible for project planning and drafting detailed plans and/or technical documentation and should be able to take the information gathered and export the information to create metrics, dashboards, and other analytical documents to assist with reporting to IT leadership.
- Incumbent will also work in conjunction with the IT Facilities project managers to assist with project support.
- The Business Systems Analyst may act as a liaison for IT Implementations between the business customer, other UCDH departments and IT Facilities technical teams.
- This role is critical to identifying and driving improvements and efficiency initiatives as it relates to IT Facilities support of the 48X project, fostering both intra- and inter-team communication and cooperation.
- Applies technical expertise and business analysis concepts to identify, evaluate, and define complex system scopes, requirements, and objectives, with an understanding of applicable business practices, processes, systems, and industry standards to meet end-user needs and requirements
- Provides analyses for complex resources related to projects, working directly with all levels of management
- Conducts complex analysis of business issues and provides recommendations for possible solutions, works with business users and IT project teams to drive decision making and define requirements for processes and project development, ensuring that business and user needs are being met
- Develops business requirements, functional specifications, and project support documentation which guides process development efforts, working closely with the process owners, development teams and business teams to ensure successful project implementation
- Participates in a fast-paced portfolio of project requests, driving issues to resolution with a strong focus on stakeholder satisfaction and efficient execution
- Initiates, designs, or modifies complex procedures where standardized policies or procedures may or may not exist. Creates technical processes for systems with a broad impact at a campus and/or medical center level
- May lead or participate in cross-functional teams to address complex business or systems issues as it relates to workflow development and enhancement for projects and/or requests
